Despite its retro theme, the house has all of the modern amenities you can expect—with a twist. Take a shower in a bathroom inspired by the malevolent forest in The Evil Dead (1981), or grab a snack from the Freddy Kruger-adorned fridge. Recent years have seen box office hits for the revivals of several beloved franchises. The cabins are currently owned by Jade and Rusty Valore and until recently were rented as an Airbnb under the name Stranger Stays. Jade and Rusty are also owners of Rad Coffee, a horror-themed punk coffee company with locations in Covina and Upland.

Jade Valore told Newsweek: “Personally, I’ve been a horror fanatic since I was a child, so I came up with the idea to buy these duplexes to theme out for guests to enjoy because there’s nothing in the U.S. that offers such an amazing and curated experience.

“The cabins were under the business name Stranger Stays, so we’d been promoting and marketing online and also at horror conventions in Southern California. I asked myself ‘if I could build my dream Airbnb, how would I do it?’ And that’s how Stranger Stays started.

“Everything in these cabins was designed and curated by me and my husband Rusty.”
