Whatcom’s median home sale price is at an all-time high

The number of Whatcom County home sales decreased in February as prices have increased by more than 30% over 2021, according to Redfin Metro Area Data.

Redfin’s Whatcom County real estate trends reported that the median home sale price is currently at $578,500, a 32.4% increase since last year and an all-time high for the last five years.

That number is likely influenced by the inclusion of the most expensive home listing in Whatcom County on Redfin. It’s a six-bedroom, six-bath home listed for $13,995,000 in Bellingham — but that includes lots for 52 homes. The main home is 4,500 square feet and is located on 367 acres with a water view and includes a guest house, pastures and a barn.

The number of Whatcom home sales decreased in February by 21.9% from last year. The median number of days on the market increased two days from last year, up to eight days.

If you are shopping for the most affordable home in Whatcom County, mobile homes are available on Redfin for under $50,000. Other homes are available such as a $245,000 two-bedroom, two-bath home located in Maple Falls.
